The Playhouse Disney kids-bop sensations preach manners and honesty through addictive tunes in a style they describe “Red Hot Chili Peppers meet Captain Kangaroo.” They also wear matching jumpsuits like Devo used to do and jump really high on stage - and that’s as inviting as a big wet kiss from Clifford The Big Red Dog to the hordes of children strung out on the New Orleans band’s positivity-through-rock message. The country-fried-punk speed dealers peddle lightning-fast rockabilly a la The Reverend Horton Heat – like when they covered “Stop That Pigeon.” The trio burns down The Court Tavern (124 Church St., New Brunswick) tonight with Trenton’s FreeDoom and Honah Lee. Raymond Strife’s shifty hip-hop flow “isn’t so innocent. Even if he goes impendent, he’s rocking the show infinite.” The Lawrence rapper’s silly-yet-smart rhymes, head-nodding basement beats and funk-in-drublic lyrical shenanigans also reveal an appreciation for The Alkaholics, Murs and RA The Rugged Man. His comical prose highlights tomorrow’s show at McGuinn’s Place (1781 Brunswick Pike, Lawrence) with DEMO. Show starts at 9. Hip-hoppers Angels to Some, Devils to Others, Money$ide, Indiana’s Black Shirley – noisemakers similar to The Dwarves – and DJ Swiss CHZ round out the bill. Tickets cost $5. 21-plus.
The Ocean County audio bullies run the gamut on metal subgenres – even sliding sonic laser blasts in its more traditional metal death sets. The emcee’s “stomach-piercing bluntness” and erotic poetry practice will give you a tummy ache or the munchies - you pick. The Ewing entrepreneur hits the All Call Inn (214 Weber Ave., Ewing) stage tomorrow night to celebrate the release of his “Dirty Jerzey Fresh” clothing line. Show starts at 9:25. Tickets cost $5.
Not too many come to area with a resume like this Small Faces keyboarder. And only one can say they’re the widow of Keith Moon’s aesthetic ex-wife. The Brit - headlining The Record Collector (358 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown) tomorrow night – is an icon to say the least. After Small Faces broke down in 1969, McLagan started Faces with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood; then spent the next couple decades touring with The Rolling Stones, playing the organ with Wood and Keith Richards in The New Barbarians and in the studio with Bruce Springsteen, Joe Cocker, Bob Dylan and Jackson Browne. And since ’97, McLagan’s been in Billy Bragg’s band. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. The Catholic Girls, open. Tickets cost $25 in advance, $27 at the door. All-ages.

Chicks draped in leather, bellowing late ’70s heavy metal with homoerotic undertones? “Breaking the Law,” in deed. But a pretty cool idea, too. The ladies in black headline the Stone Pony (913 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park) tomorrow night. Show starts at 7:30. The Lancaster metal-core crazies may cute, pretty-boy smiles on when doing photo shoots, but they pack quite a wallet – poisoning the eardrums with neck-snapping breakdowns, machine-gun drumming and viperous vocals you get from Every Time I Die. The guys break-it-down in flip-flops and there’s some melody in the rhythm guitar and typical air-punching choruses, too, but that’s what you should expect from every team of a high school hardcorers booked to pump-up the jams at Championships Sports Bar and Grill (931 Chambers St., Trenton) on any given Saturday. The Long Islander’s alt-rock pulse is laced with sugary teen-pop lullaby’s that begs for female attention. Pretty wimpy - but that’s what gets high school kids play these days. They sound like a mix of Metrostation and The Script - and headline The Mill Hill Basement’s (300 S. Broad St., Trenton) first all-ages show on Saturday night. Show starts at 5 p.m. Set In Color, The Glory Days and Reckless round out the bill. Tickets cost $5. All-ages.
The Philly psychedelic garage rockers, who in the late ’60s were fronted by Todd Rundgren, headline The Record Collector (358 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown) Saturday night. Inspired by Cream and taking their name from The Yardbirds’ song “The Nazz are Blue,” Rundgren left the group in 1969 after two albums to “Bang on His Drum All Day.” The group fizzled by 1970, but resurfaced in 2006 under the control of original member Stewkey (Robert Antoni), who still rocks out to Rundgren-NAZZ’s most recognizable tune, “Hello, It’s Me.” Show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost $15 in advance, $18 at the door. The 1985 new wave hit “Anything Anything (I’ll Give You Back)” saw a revitalization in Trenton a year or so ago when local rockers Philo (now Honah Lee) started covering the song. It was on the soundtrack to “A Nightmare of Elm Street 4: Dream Master,” too, is still a top request on L.A.’s KROQ and is just one of those songs that gets stuck in your head all day. Gotcha! Now, “settle down, settle down, settle down.” The Jersey-born power-rockers reformed in 2003 for the VH1 reality show “Bands Reunited” and play a couple shows a year, including Saturday’s show at The Wonder Bar (1213 Ocean Ave., Asbury Park). Show starts at 7 p.m. The Joe Rapolla Band, Ziggy Shock and Jon Caspi open. Tickets cost $20 in advance, $25 at the door. All-ages.
